Rattler’s Edge provides a unique opportunity for promising stylists and barbers to grow as professionals and entrepreneurs.  You can learn how to create your own business while building your career at Tallahassee’s premier hair care destination. Our Entrepreneurship Program is an 24-month program that offers in-salon training and business skills to help you build your books and your brand.

Our objective is to develop the industry’s best licensed professionals and prepare them for entrepreneurship.  With our training, you will get hands-on experience with and access to the business model that has made us a successful salon for over 15 years. Our team specializes in business development. You will learn how to build your own business- forecasting, operational strategy, break even analysis – resulting in increased clientele and upgraded sales. 

We are passionate about developing great talent that will establish the salon of the future. At the completion of the program you will unlock access to one-on-one business planning, marketing and funding to get your venture off the ground. The Entrepreneurship Program creates an ideal atmosphere to position yourself to start a successful hair care business with marketing and customers already waiting for you to launch!

 

Qualifications

  • Cosmetology License
  • 1-3 years experience, especially in ethnic hair

Beauty Supply Manager

We are currently searching for an enthusiastic Store Manager to join our growing team! As a Store Manager, we want you to bring leadership, management skills, and experience to a team-oriented and dynamic environment. We believe that our success is based primarily on the quality and hard work of our valued team members bringing the beauty world to our customers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Meets or exceeds salon financial metrics, including: service revenue, average ticket, guest count, guest retention, rebooking, pro-hair retail revenue, retention/turnover and contribution goals.
  • Demonstrates business acumen, with an understanding of key business drivers and can identify opportunities for growth within own location, especially, payroll management, staffing for growth, average ticket and rebooking.
  • Demonstrates high standards for customer service and salon image standards; internal candidates would exemplify Rattlers Edge standards and consistently deliver “The Edge” experience service model.
  • Responsible for the management of all salon personnel, including (but not limited to): recruitment, training, product knowledge and skills development, loss prevention knowledge, performance management, safety, recognition, and legal compliance.
  • Leads through growing people and their productivity, has clear vision of individual team member and/or personal goals. Has demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills and can verbalize the steps taken to achieve those goals. Internally, has participated in Salon Professional Development meetings; can identify when coaching vs. mentoring is needed and has personally achieved a level jump. Can articulate the behaviors that moved them through the level jump. This would be demonstrated by increased associate productivity, clear measurable goals, monthly SPDMs (Salon Professionals Development Meetings) and annual performance appraisals.
  • Analyzes on a weekly/monthly basis the salon sales, expenses and trends, utilizing our System Reports, with the General Manager to determine ongoing standards for weekly revenue goals, staff productivity goals, average ticket goals, and customer retention goals.
  • Responsible for taking business goals and developing a quarterly plan of action, with clear steps and measurements and consistently executes to deliver expected results.
  • Responsible for identifying the skill development needed for each salon professional and determining the right resource, including themselves, to develop the skill.
  • Place and check-in supply orders in a timely manner and within budget; while ensuring not to run out of needed supplies to service guests.
  • Conducts verbal and technical interviews, talent selection per Rattler’s Edge guidelines.
  • Ensures all internal/external technical product training classes are attended.

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate the highest level of leadership and ethical standards with a drive to uphold our culture of “Everything’s Possible.” Possess a passion for the beauty industry with the desire to constantly learn, then teach our store personnel and customers about our products. Display strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and act independently. Self-starter with a drive to continuously learn and develop in career.
    •       Must be 18 years of age or older
    •       Must have 3+ year(s) of retail sales/customer service experience
    •       Must have 1+ year(s) of managerial experience

          Licensed cosmetologist desirable, but not required
